Today I finished my keynote. I also configured the order in which the groups are going to present, ie. Me, Tap.vs.Bottled water, Water quality, Recycling HKA, recycling HK, BPA, Life cycle of plastic. I also found out that I have to do a conclusion for the grade presentation, so I have to do it improvisation style and take notes on the main points of each presentaion. I also put all of my documents in the sharepoint, anyway I'm al ready
Today I worked on my presentation. First I got the format right with a “prototype slide” as I like to call it, I then used that prototype slide as a format for all of the following slides I also copied and pasted the URL’s of the websites I got all my pictures from, except for the ones that I took myself (the one on the process slide) so full recondition is shown on the keynote. The following, are the slides I did today. Intro slide, keynote Index slide, Process slide, results index slide, Pacific Garbage Patch slide, and bibliography slide. I also had to recreate my graphs on the keynote but now that they are in the keynote they look fantastic! Good day look forward to working on keynote some more.
Today I tried to revamp some of the journals I have posted on the weebly. I made them more detailed, more to the point, and more formal, I included descriptions on everything I did during class on those days, that took a while for I had to remember what I had done on those days and how I felt about the things I did on those days. Then I worked on my Bibliography, again trying to remember what I had done on previous days, for I had to cite all of the websites, books, and documentaries I had previously used then putting it on bib me in APA style that took a little while. Then I decided to create my presentation but instead of doing the whole thing at once, I decided to do an outline, make the headings of each slide which I didn’t quite entirely finish but I am close to finishing. I also put my bibliography on my weebly and I spelled bibliography wrong on the weebly and it didn’t correct me so I’ll work on that later. Very productive day.
Friday June 3
Number Crunching: I have a good understanding of everything I am doing so today I decided to crunch some numbers to get some really Impact full facts out there, because if there's anything I know about making a good presentation is that when you have facts, you have power, and when you have have graphs made from those facts you godly power. So I looked up how much water the average person uses (123 gallons a day) and multiplied by the number of people in the world with access to water (5.6 billion) and I concluded that people use 68,880,000,000 gallons of water a day. I also searched for video’s that I could post on my weebly and found one really great ted talk and posted that. I also posted all of my relevant documents and all of my entries in to this journal. Anyway very productive day. How inspiring! She has taught me how I can make a Difference, and how each and every one of us can make a difference. Wow! Yes, weebly finally works now so I have had to spend the entire time recapping what happened, how informative! So how did I activate weebly well I went to Mr.Arnold for help and I discovered that it works on firefox and not safari which was the browser I was using, so then I forgot my password and user-name temporarily but recovered it in my memories and updated everything. I also accidentally deleted all my research on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, so I spent 45 minutes retyping that to the best of my memory. I also spent another 45 minutes just trying to get weebly online but I did it! Then I changed my pacific garbage patch graph from a pie chart to bar graph which I think makes it a lot more impact full to see plastic six times taller than plankton, that’s pretty cool. My goal for my presentation is to be impact full and graphs always make things more impact full, go graphs! I also had to find all the pictures, had previously had but needn't worry for google images is a very fruitful resource and is filled with great pict
Weebly is behaving terribly right now, it won’t load, won’t let me do anything and just plain won’t work. Weebly is throwing the internet equivalent of throwing a tantrum and banging its fists against the wall in a fancy restaurant because the restaurant doesn’t have mac and cheese. Seeing as I have reporter duties I need to use weebly and have been trying to all class period and at home, but to no avail come on weebly I’m counting on you! Besides that I have researched the Aral sea crisis, and though the only site that had the information I needed was Wikipedia I checked the writers sources and found he had at least 30 and then I checked those sources and I found that they were quite reliable, his sources included, the World Health Organization (who), BBC, CNN, and National Geographic, so I found that the wiki I was looking at was an excellent synthesis of information so I discovered just how much it shrunk and it turns out that it has shrunken to ten percent of its original form wow. I then attempted to find out just how much water is used to make a cotton T-shirt, unfortunately I could only find answers.com and yahoo as actual concise resources so instead of trusting yahoo I got out my book Ecological Intellegence and read up on it, It turns out it tak . Anyway I can’t update my weebly but besides that everything’s fine.
